Franco Nero Ska
Franco Nero pays tribute to Don Drummond, and his compositions, keeping ska alive. Ska combines Caribbean beats, with the jazz improvisations, to form a truly original music. Trombonist and composer Scott Larson has assembled a crew of talented SF Bay Area musicians to skank hard and steady, playing a groovy mix of rocksteady, retro ska, and reggae. Franco Nero performs original music and covers music from The Skatalites, Laurel Atken, Baba Brooks, Tommy McCook, Phyliss Dillon, and Sam Cooke to name a few.
